Thomas Merton Study Group

Thomas Merton was a Trappist monk who was given special permission to study the religions of the world. He was particularly interested in those of the East. His later works clearly demonstrate the influence of his study. Although spirituality cannot be defined by any one particular tradition, the study and pursuit of Unity is common to all. We study Advaita using the works of Merton. He leads us through his own inspiration with guidance from the works of St. Teresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross. He has left us with a legacy of writings which can help us all on our path to the realization of our true identity.
